Slow cooker shrimp stew with sausage. This yummy recipe belongs to Creole cuisine. Shrimp with sausage and vegetables cooked in slow cooker . Crispy cooked sausage and dry sherry add complementary flavors to this delicious stew.

Ingredients:
4 oz (120 g) smoked sausage,sliced
1-2 tablespoons canola oil
28 oz (840 ml) can stewed tomatoes
1/2 cup (125 ml) clam juice
2-3 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 cup finely chopped yellow onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped fresh celery
3 cloves garlic,peeled and minced
1 pound (480 g) shrimp,peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons dry sherry
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Cooking method:
- Cook sausages in oil in small nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until browned and crisp,3-4 minutes.Remove from the skillet and reserve.
- In a slow cooker,combine tomatoes,clam juice,vegetables and garlic.Mix well.
- Cover slow cooker and cook on high-heat setting for 3-4 hours,adding reserved sausages,shrimp,dry sherry and hot pepper sauce during last 10 minutes.
- Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
- Serve hot.
