Slow Cooked Pepper Steak

Makes 6to 8 servings for this slow cooked pepper steak.Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2-2 lbs.beef round steak,cut in 3"x1" strips
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 garlic clove,minced
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 large green peppers,cut in strips
  • 4 tomatoes cut into eighths,or 16-oz.can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
 Cooking Method:Brown beef in oil in saucepan.Transfer browned beef in slow cooker. Combine soy sauce,garlic,onions,sugar,salt,pepper and ginger together and pour over meat.Cover and cook on low 5-6 hours.
Add green peppers and tomatoes.Cook one hour longer.Combine water and cornstarch to make paste.Stir in slow cooker.Cook on High until thickened,about 10 minutes.Serve slow cooked pepper steak over rice or noodles.
