Grilled jalapeno-cheese bratwurst sausages recipe. Famous bratwurst sausages with jalapeno peppers, Colby and Monterey Jack cheese grilled over a charcoal grill and served with green onions, Dijon mustard, and sauerkraut. Very delicious!
Cut a 1/2-inch-deep slit down the center of each bratwurst sausage.
In a small mixing bowl combine cheese, chile peppers, and green onions. mix well Spoon cheese mixture into slits, pushing in slightly. Wrap stuffed bratwursts with a plastic wrap in a storage container. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Remove marinated sausages from the refrigerator. Heat the charcoal grill. Test for medium heat above pan. Place bratwursts, cheese sides up, on grill rack over drip pan.
Cover and grill for 6 to 8 minutes, turning occasionally until bratwursts are heated through and cheese is melted. (For a gas grill, preheat grill. Reduce heat to medium. Adjust for indirect cooking and grill as above.) Serve bratwursts in buns with toppings.
